Impermanent Thoughts

"No human, nor any living thing, survives long under the eternal sky. The most beautiful woman, the most learned men, even Mohammad, who heard Allah's own voice, all did wither an die. All is temporary. The sky outlives everything. Even suffering."
-Bowa Johar, Balti Poet, Pakistan

"Let nothing perturb you, nothing frighten you. All things pass. God does not change. Patience achieves everything."
-Mother Theresa, Calcutta

"Decay is inherent in all living things."
-Gautama Buddha, Benares

Throughout all major world religions, we see the concept of impermanence echoed again and again. So why do we all struggle to grasp things that are not ours, that will outlast us, and will belong to somebody else some day in the future? Lifeless objects, that is all they are.

All of us are born blind. Few of us learn to see. (Me)
